Over the sizes of the money... as there is no way for a blind person to tell the difference between a $5 and $1 bill.
After six years of fighting against the blind, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia said that the failure to make the bills different feeling through size or through Raised Print or some other means was discriminatory....
So you should eventually see a change in the $1 or in the $5 bills...I find it unusual that there ever was a battle between this organization for the blind and the Federal Government as it should have been a logical thing to just change the money.
It is also odd to me that the National Federation of the Blind sided with the government against the blind people it should have been supporting...I wonder what you think about this...
Will it bother you to have the $1 and $5 bills be different sizes or to have one have raised print on it so that the blind people can use their money independently? | |
